Professional Training Program
‍Dance Theater of Florida is thrilled to continue to offer its prestigious Professional Training Program — an elite track designed for serious dancers pursuing a future in professional dance. Admission is by audition and invitation only.

‍Under the guidance of a renowned and highly qualified faculty, selected students will follow an intensive, comprehensive curriculum that includes:
Ballet Technique
Pointe & Variations
Partnering
Contemporary & Modern
Repertoire & Private Coaching
Pilates & Conditioning

Workshops and guest lectures will cover essential topics such as nutrition, injury prevention, audition technique, and acting, ensuring students receive holistic training that prepares them for every aspect of a professional dance career.

Students will have the opportunity to work with guest artists and choreographers throughout the year, expanding their versatility and experience across different styles and approaches.

To accommodate a variety of educational needs, the program is open to both homeschool and virtual school students, giving families the flexibility to choose the best academic path for their child.

Training for Today’s Dancer
‍DToF recognizes that today’s dancers must be as fluent in contemporary, jazz and modern movement as they are in classical ballet. By working with a range of instructors and choreographers, students are exposed to multiple styles and perspectives — a key part of becoming a dynamic, adaptable performer.

Outreach & Performance Opportunities
‍In addition to daily training and academics, students participate in outreach programs, offering lecture demonstrations in schools and community centers. They also perform full-length classical ballets and original works in professional theaters throughout the year. Students may also compete in prestigious competitions such as YAGP and UBC.

Male Scholarship Program
‍Male dancers accepted into the Professional Training Program are eligible for a full tuition scholarship.

‍The Dance Theater of Florida  (DToF) is one of the few schools in South Florida to offer a structured and consistent syllabus based on the Vaganova method, the training system behind legendary dancers such as Baryshnikov, Nureyev, and Svetlana Zakharova.We are also ABT Certified, ensuring our faculty is highly trained in the most effective and current teaching methods. Our alumni have gone on to world-renowned institutions including Juilliard, Paris Opera Ballet School, Alvin Ailey, Stuttgart Ballet, and more.
